Presidential Roadshow continues

Andrew Issacs has kept his presidential promise to engage local firms in the activities of the society and recent committee meetings have been held at Foys , Taylor Bracewell , HSR Law , Atteys and next months meeting takes place at Malcolm C Foy . 

The New President promised this year  to take some tough decisions as he moved forward , to drive forward the presence of local firms in the Doncaster Community and to play an active part in example in promoting careers and education with the Town's young people . Calling Young Lawyers

The Society is seeking to engage with its younger members and to look to the future of the profession in Doncaster . Under the guidance of our New Young Lawyers Rep we are hoping to put on a series of social events to give the towns young professionals the chance to meet up and get to know each other . Society Plans Careers Event

Members of the Society are currently working on a plan to run a careers fair with Local Schools to promote legal careers to young people in the Town . We are looking for members with different skills and specialisms to attend and speak to students about their careers and experience in the law . 


Local Solicitor Named Claimant Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year  

John McQuater - a Past President of Doncaster & District Law Society and Partner of Atherton & Godfrey Solicitors has recently been named as Claimant Personal Injury Lawyer of the Year . The Society offers its sincere congratulations to John . 




Quality Assessment of Advocates Scheme is Confirmed

It was announced on 23rd March that a deal had been agreed and that the new scheme would launch over the summer requiring all crown advocates to be assessed as to their competance . Apart from Plea only advocates that assessment will be by Crown Court Judges . More Details will be released as it becomes available  .
